A consular interview is required. Processing time: 6\u20138 weeks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once approved, you will receive the <strong>ELECTIVE RESIDENCE VISA<\/strong>. It is valid for 6 months and allows a maximum stay of 90 days within the Schengen Area.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Within 8 days of arriving in Italy, you must apply for an <strong>ELECTIVE RESIDENCE PERMIT<\/strong>at the local Police Headquarters (Questura). Processing time: 3\u20136 months. You will be required to return to Italy for biometrics.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Receive your <strong>ELECTIVE RESIDENCE PERMIT<\/strong>.
