Minimum Investment for the Portugal Golden Visa
- MINIMUM INVESTMENT OF €500,000 into :
- A Portuguese company that creates at least five permanent jobs.
- R&D activities in public or private research institutions.
- Investment funds focused on the capitalization of Portuguese companies.
- MINIMUM INVESTMENT OF €250,000 into :
- Artistic production, or the restoration or preservation of Portugal’s cultural heritage (including film production investments).
- ESTABLISHING A BUSINESS THAT :
- Employs a minimum of 10 employees.
- VENTURE CAPITAL FUNDS :
- A minimum of €500,000 for the acquisition of shares/units in non–real estate Portuguese business entities established under Portuguese law, with a maturity of at least 5 years at the time of investment, and with a minimum of 60% of the investment allocated to companies headquartered in Portugal.
- CAPITAL TRANSFER :
A minimum of €500,000 for the establishment of :- A company headquartered in Portugal, creating 5 permanent jobs, OR
- Strengthening the share capital of an existing company registered in Portugal, with the creation of at least 5 permanent jobs, or the maintenance of a minimum of 10 job positions, including at least 5 permanent employees, for a minimum period of 3 years.
The options most commonly facilitated are Options No. 4 and 5, with some companies offering a BUY-BACK GUARANTEE on the investment starting from year 7 or after the client’s Permanent Resident is approved by AIMA (Portugal Immigration Authority).
Minimum Stay within 5 years
- 14 days during Years 1–2.
- 14 days during Years 3–4.
- 7 days in Year 5.
Options After 5 Years
- Permanent Resident ( PR ) :
- Apply for Permanent Residency in Year 6, with a processing time of approximately 18–24 months. After obtaining Permanent Residency, you may EXIT the investmentor claim a buy-back if your provider offers a Buy-Back Guarantee.
- Eligible to live, work as an employee, or run a business in Portugal.
- Travel to European Union countries for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
- Citizenship :
Eligible to apply for Portuguese citizenship after holding a Portugal Golden Visa for 5 years and passing a simple Portuguese language test.- Eligible to reside in any European Union country without time limitations.
- Eligible to work in any European Union country without requiring a Work Permit.
- Eligible to travel to other European Union countries for more than 90 days.
Step by Step Portugal Golden Visa
Process: 16–24 months from the submission of documents to AIMA (Portugal Immigration Authority). It may be faster if the backlog has been reduced.
